3 Natural Remedies for Aniexty

When it comes to this world, I always believe in giving nature a shot before you consult with a doctor. Although some remedies are just a little silly, sometimes that is the exact remedy that is going to work on you.

As far as stress goes, who doesn't have it? Whether you have extreme anxiety, or just some stress that's weighing you down, below are some all natural cures to help get rid of stress.

1. Passionflower

Not only is it good for anxiety, but it also leaves you less drowsy and more able to focus than other natural remedies.

2. Mind & Body Relaxation

It has been proven that working out can relieve stress, but you don't have to run a few miles to distress yourself. Yoga, Tai Chi, and other forms of meditation are great for naturally relieving stress out the body.

3. Valerian

This is more of a long term anxiety medicine, as it does take weeks to build up in your system. Also, it helps most when you take it before bedtime. However, over time it can help you see an overall level of stress relief.

6 Key Benefits to Detoxing

These days, everyone is trying to detox. Even at BabyLove's Bath & Beauty, we are always thinking of new products to help you detox and cleanse your skin. We focus on skin products, not only because it is our passion, but because it is the largest organ of the body, that frequently gets ignored when you detox. If you detox part of your body, you should make sure to detox your body inside and out, to make sure you are cleansing every part equally. This includes meditation to calm your soul,  juice or other detoxes for your body on the inside, and some good body scrubs to detox your pores, and really get all the toxins out of your system.

For those who do not meditate, I only include this step because negativity in your mind does truly affect your body and its performance. That article is for another day, so continuing on.

Key Benefits of Detoxing Your Body:

The most obvious difference you will see is the way you feel. After detoxing your body, you will feel lighter or like you have more energy. You will also feel happier, like less weight is on your body, and even your mind

When detoxing, you are literally getting rid of toxins that cause long term harm to your body. By cleansing yourself of these toxins, you not only decrease the risk for cancer, but also heart attacks and other various diseases/conditions as well

When your body is full of toxins, so is your mind. Once you detox, you may notice that you can sleep easier, and concentrate better. That is because your mind is now clear and free from all these toxins blocking it

When detoxing, it has to leave your body. Afterwards, you may notice that you are a bit slimmer, or have lost a bit of weight. Eating healthy afterwards will keep this weight off, along with additional cleanses overtime to help your body perform at its best

When you detox, you are helping every part of your body function better. If you usually wake up with, or get stuck with, bad breath, you might see a difference in your breath once you take a few days to detox your body, especially the digestive system

When your done detoxing, your skin will glow. However, so will your hair. You might notice that your hair is softer, shinier naturally, and even growing better than before

DIY: Homemade Slime

One of the great things about summer is running out of things to do. Although this sounds bad, it always means that there is time to find something new to try. This summer, my daughter discovered slime. I am not sure were it started, although I think Youtube Kids had something to do with it, on top of old school Nickelodeon that we showed her. Then, we went to a place where she ended up getting just that, her own container of blue slime.
However, she is only 3. So after a few days, the slime had turned into dried crumbles that wouldn't even stick together. She got so upset, so i quickly went online and found a recipe for home made slime. I found quite a few recipes, all of which will be on the next post, however I picked this one because we had most of the things at the house already, which made it easier to do.

  • 1/2 TBSP baking soda
  • 1 1/2 TBSP contact solution
  • 6 fl oz Elmer’s Glitter Glue

When we went to the store, we could not find glitter glue. Instead, we got regular glue and decided to improvise. After we got home, we gathered a bowl and all our ingredients.
After that, we added 6 oz of glue into the bowl, along with the other supplies. Then, after a long debate on what color she actually wanted, yellow was the official color that we put into our slime. I stirred it up initially, just to get it started, and then let her have some fun stirring it all up.

At first, the slime just did not seem the right texture. So i played around, adding some extra baking soda and contact solution, until the slime got a little thicker. I probably added 2 extra squirts of solution, and another 1/2 tbsp of baking soda. So below is the amount of everything that is in our slime:
  • 6 oz Regular glue
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tbsp contact solution (+ 2 squirts)
  • food coloring of your choice

Overall, things got hidden in the slime and came right out. It got put into tea cups where we had to pretend drink them. Circles were made out of slime, along with other shapes. It was a great activity for her to make, as well as be able to play with afterwards.

Update: Day 2 of making slime(told you it was her thing). This time, we used 2.5 oz glitter glue we found on sale, along with baking soda and contact solution.

This time, we poured out the glitter glue. Then, i used 1 TSP (not TBSP) of baking soda, and 1/2 TSP of contact solution. After, i ended up squirting mire solution until it lost its stickiness and got more slimey.

Just goes to show you how easily you can work with the recipe depending on what you have at home.
